CLASSES + WORKSHOPS
MOVEMENT IS SOMETHING WE PRACTICE TOGETHER.
My group teaching lives somewhere between movement training, dance, skill practice, improvisation, and play.
Classes and workshops are places to learn new physical skills, explore unfamiliar movement, work with other people, and discover what happens when training becomes a creative practice.
WHY GROUP PRACTICE
SOME THINGS ARE ONLY POSSIBLE WITH OTHER PEOPLE.
One-on-one coaching lets us get incredibly specific.
A group creates something different.
We learn by watching each other. We borrow ideas. We respond. We play. A task changes because of the people in the room.
As a teacher, I love creating the conditions for a group to move through an experience together and then seeing what emerges.
There is community, unpredictability, collaboration, and a kind of shared momentum that simply isn't possible when you're moving alone.
It's one of the reasons I still love teaching classes.
GROUND MOVEMENT
TAKE STRENGTH AND MOBILITY INTO MOTION.
Ground Movement explores the space between foundational movement skills and creative practice.
Classes can include rolling, cartwheels, locomotion, floor transitions, partnering, improvisation, rhythm, Fighting Monkey-inspired games, dance, and acrobatic skills such as Macaco and other transitional movement patterns.
We spend time learning skills, but skill acquisition isn't the endpoint. The goal is to integrate those skills into movement that becomes more responsive, adaptable, and eventually your own.
Movement class is a bridge between strength and mobility training and expressive form.
It's where the capacities we build through training become material for exploration, play, and creative expression.

PARENTS + KIDS
LITTLE APES & CO.
Little Apes & Co. creates a space for parents and children to move together.
Rather than standing on the sidelines while kids participate, adults join the practice.
Through games, balance, locomotion, partner tasks, coordination, creative movement, and physical play, families get to explore what their bodies can do together.
The goal isn't to turn parents into children's coaches. It's to give families new ways to connect through movement.

MONTHLY PRACTICE
MOVEMENT LAB
With Leah Woods + Ryder Turner
Movement Lab is an ongoing collaborative workshop exploring movement as an emergent creative practice.
Each session begins with propositions rather than a fixed sequence.
We might work with dance, improvisation, solo and group scores, partnering, games, physical tasks, or whatever questions become interesting in the room.
The curriculum changes because the people in the room change.
It is part class, part laboratory, and part shared creative practice.
